ZCCCT Tools Application in Auto Cylinder Liner


Concept of cylinder liner:

Auto cylinder liner is abbreviation of automobile engine cylinder liner. It is a cylindrical part installed in the cylinder hole of the engine block, with the top pressed and sealed by cylinder head, containing reciprocating motional piston components.

Cylinder liner is divided into two types: dry cylinder liner and wet cylinder liner. If the rear does not contact cooling water, it is called dry cylinder liner. If the rear contacts cooling water, it is called wet cylinder liner.

Requirements for cylinder liner

Cylinder liner should have sufficient strength and rigidity to bear the heat load and mechanical load

Working surface of cylinder liner should has high precision and smooth finish, good wear resistance and corrosion resistance, good lubrication condition and reliable cooling conditions, ensuring reliable airtight and watertight for working volume and cooling water space, with proper port shape and cross section size.

Main materials of cylinder liner

At present, most of the diesel engine cylinder liner is made with cast iron and steel + quenching processing techniques. Cast iron materials have properties such as low cost, good manufacturability, wear resistance and good oil storage.

Commonly used cast iron materials include: nodular cast iron, alloy cast iron, high phosphorus cast iron and boron cast iron, etc.

Mainly applied steel materials include: 45、2Cr13、17-4PH, etc.
